Museum of Northern Arizona

The Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, Arizona, has a bookstore and sits at the base of the San Francisco Peaks, on land sacred to Native Americans. This museum cares for a large number of artifacts and specimens, focusing on the Colorado Plateau.

The campus spans 200 acres, comprising several buildings, including the museum building, the Easton Collection Center, and the Administration and Library building. Some areas, such as gardens and trails, are open to the public. The museum building was constructed using local materials and has undergone expansions over time.

Exhibits and collections at the museum include anthropology, biology, geology, and fine arts. Tours and events, like the Behind-the-Scenes Easton Collection Center Tour and the Spooky Science and Freaky Finds event, are also available. This institution serves as a place to learn about the region's natural and human history.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the museum, with members receiving free admission. A family guide is also available, and service dogs are welcome. The museum is near downtown Flagstaff and accessible by public transportation, on foot, or by bike.

The museum's collections comprise over 800,000 artifacts, objects, and specimens. The Easton Collection Center provides a secure environment for the most fragile collections, and staff, including the Director of Research and Collections and the Senior Collections Manager, ensure that objects are properly stored and cared for.
